They decided engagement photos are for The Birds.
When Rhode Island couple TJ Curran and Sarah Hagin started thinking about their engagement photos, they wanted to do something unique.

They discussed several ideas before deciding to do a shoot inspired by Alfred Hitchcock films.
"It started with the idea of the Cary Grant scene in North By Northwest where he is being chased by an airplane crop duster," Curran told BuzzFeed Life. "I said it would be fun for Sarah to be in the plane chasing me. I was totally joking but then it morphed into trying to figure out what we could do."

Photographer Seth Jacobson helped them bring the photo shoot to life.
"I am always looking for folks that want to 'play' with me and was thrilled when TJ and Sarah wanted to step outside of the norm and do this project," Jacobson told BuzzFeed Life.

Curran said they studied the films they wanted to emulate and then "begged, borrowed, and bought" everything they needed to make it happen.
"Our good friends let us borrow their shower, despite having a newborn baby napping in the next room," he said. "Another good friend let us borrow the entry to his restaurant, Vanity, in downtown Providence."
Curran and Hagin are both involved in the local theater in Rhode Island and were able to borrow props and costumes for the shoot.
