Using things you probably already have!

Store all of your wrapping paper in a transparent garment bag.
You'll still have to pull it down to the floor when you're getting down to wrapping business, but this way you can see what you have all at once, and it stays protected when you're not using it. And you can hang it up in your closet to get it out of the way! From here.
Then slip toilet paper rolls over the paper to keep it from unraveling as you pull it out of storage.

Tape or tie lengths of wide ribbon to your kitchen cabinets (or a closet door) and use clothespins to display your holiday cards.
This tutorial ties the ribbon in the back of each cabinet door, but if you wanted to save ribbon, you could use removable adhesive strips. Because you're going to have a little weight from the cards and clothespins, try the strips made for hooks, like these, $3.99.
And if you don't like the look of wooden clothespins, it's quick and easy to cover them with metallic washi tape (This set is $7.99, and has gold, silver, blue, and red options).
