Here’s How To Eat Healthy When You’re Going Out For A Meal On The High Street

Because eating out when you’re trying to be healthy can be hard AF.

Eating out can be a minefield of high-fat, high-calorie foods and a shitload of temptation when you're trying to healthy. It's hard out there.

Eating out can be a minefield of high-fat, high-calorie foods and a shitload of temptation when you're trying to healthy. It's hard out there.

So we asked dietitian Anna Daniels, a spokesperson for British Dietetic Association, to give us advice on what to order when eating out. We ask her to pick the healthiest meals from a bunch of restaurants that are pretty much on every high street. The meals had to be healthy and cheap, and not bland. Because flavour is a major key. *DJ Khaled voice*

Here's what she said. Good news: Pizza is included!

At Zizzi's, go for the Skinny Pizza King Prawn Diavola.

The diavola is under 600 calories – for a pizza, that's pretty good going. "Because it's a skinny pizza, it has smaller portions of white refined carbs," Daniels said. "The toppings include protein and fibre, which assist in slowing release of glucose into bloodstream."

If you want a vegetarian option, try the skinny pizza primavera, which has goat's cheese, roasted aubergine, artichokes, peppers, slow roasted tomatoes, olives, and fresh oregano. It's only 503 calories, and the vegetables make it a healthier option.

At Nando's, choose the Chicken Breast Fillet in Pita With Macho Peas.

"It's chicken so it's packed with protein. plus it's grilled which means it's low in fat. The peas contain fibre and a variety of vitamins; including vitamin A, potassium, and vitamin B6."

For a meat-free option, try the veggie burger with a side of chargrilled veggies. "The soya in the burger is a complete protein, and it's low in saturated fat and cholesterol. The chargrilled vegetables are also rich in antioxidants."

Go for the Warm Tofu Chilli Salad at Wagamama.

"The 503-calorie salad is high in protein because of the the tofu, and the added chillies are known to increase the metabolism."

For a meaty option, go for the sirloin and shitake salad. "The sirloin steak is rich in iron and the shitake salad is rich in vitamin B which will give you energy."
