This College Student Was Kicked Off A Plane For Wearing A "Broad City" T-Shirt

Southwest Airlines said the shirt – promoting the Comedy Central TV show Broad City – was offensive. But the student refused to remove it, citing freedom of speech.

His flight made a pit stop at Lambert Airport in St. Louis due to bad weather in Chicago, and Podolsky got up to use the bathroom. He told BuzzFeed News that he was wearing a jacket for a large portion of the flight, but took it off once the plane landed in St. Louis since it was hot. That's when a gate attendant confronted him, saying that his shirt was offensive and he needed to take it off or cover it up.

Note: Podolsky's comment isn't entirely accurate, since when the Southwest gate attendants confronted him, he was not wearing the jacket. He was wearing the jacket when walking around the airport, and at other times during the flight from Dallas to St. Louis.
